A new, or first, bed can be quite an expense, there's no denying it. So, if you're on a budget you may be worried about the cost. Luckily, there are plenty of affordable beds available that can suit your purse. And you don't have to sacrifice quality with our affordable beds; you can be sure they will last the test of time, so you won't be having to spend again in the short term. Our affordable beds are as much a long-term investment as more expensive beds.

Here are our favourite types of affordable beds:

Metal bed frames

Metal bed frames are a great budget option. The stylish designs are often minimal, so they are versatile and can suit many decors. Metal is also a long-lasting material and sturdy, so these types of bed frames can last for years. And with minimal maintenance needed, they're also great for a busy lifestyle.

Our affordable metal beds are under £200, which makes them some of our cheapest beds available.

Ottoman beds

If you're needing to not only buy a bed but also need to fill your bedroom with storage, an ottoman bed can be a good budget choice. These beds combine storage and sleep, as the mattress lifts up to reveal under-bed space to store anything you want.

These beds are also a great choice for small rooms, where having storage furniture may make the room cluttered. If you're moving into your first home on a budget, and have to prioritise what furniture you buy due to the available cash, an ottoman can solve two problems at once, even if the storage space is a short-term fix, the bed itself will last for years.

Although ottomans are often a little pricier than traditional bed frames, we have cheap ottomans available for those with smaller budgets. For instance, our Grenham Faux Leather Ottoman Bed is priced at under £300.

Wooden bed frames

Often seen as a pricier option, a wooden bed doesn't have to be expensive. The initial cost may be slightly more than other bed frames mentioned in this post (with the cheapest options being under £400), but these beds are long-lasting and durable, so you won't have to replace them in a few years.

Wood is a naturally strong material and is one of the most durable materials on the market. If you're looking for something that will stand the test of time, opt for a wooden bed frame. You are definitely more likely to change your bedroom's décor before your bed, but a wooden bed can suit modern and traditional styles, and fit well with any colour scheme, so even changing your look won't mean you'll need to change your bed.

Small double bed frames

If you're a couple moving in together and need a bed where you can both fit comfortably, but need to budget, a small double bed can be the perfect choice.

These beds (also known as Queens) are just 6 inches narrower than a standard double, but this makes them cheaper, and they are still comfortable for most couples. This also makes them great for smaller rooms where space is at a premium.

There is a range of price points in our small double range, but some are under £200, making them a great affordable option.

Bed and mattress sets

If you need a bed and mattress on a budget, our bed and mattress bundles are a great way to save. In these sets, you get a bed frame and a comfortable mattress, for an affordable price. You may even be able to get a bed and mattress that you thought was beyond your budget in these sets.

When buying these sets you can save from £100 to over £200, compared to buying the bed and mattress separately.

Whatever style of bed you'd prefer, we're sure you can find a cheap and affordable bed in our range. The above are just our favourites, but there are plenty of other options. And you can be sure you'll still get a quality and long-lasting bed at our affordable prices.
