Valentine's can be a pricey time of year, but that shouldn't mean we have to compromise for our significant other. Are you looking for inexpensive ways to decorate your bedroom for your loved one this Valentine's Day? Well, look no further. Here, we've put together a list of ways to do so, on a budget. So, let's get into our romantic bedroom decorating ideas for Valentine's Day...

Say it with flowers

Let's be real, nothing quite says 'I love you' like flowers. Grab your partners' favourite bouquet and some dried petals (the petals are the décor!). Add the dried petals to your bed for a simple yet effective romantic ambience.

To name a few, here are some budget friendly flowers to buy your Valentine this year:

  • Carnations
  • Roses
  • Alstroemeria
  • Chrysanthemums

Install mood lighting

Setting the mood is a big part of Valentine’s romance. Opting for ambient lighting is a sure way of creating a relaxing and inviting space for you and your Valentine.

Here are some ideas for decorative mood lighting:

  • Salt lamps – these are great because of the warm glow they disburse. It is also believed that salt lamps help improve sleep and relieve allergies.
  • Fairy lights – adding fairy lights to a vase is an inexpensive way of adding an idyllic atmosphere to a bedroom
  • Portable projector – project a calming image or colours against a plain wall for the perfect picturesque result.

Decorate a beautiful headboard

This is a creative, fun activity you and your partner could do together. There's a number of ways to decorate a headboard, including:

  • Drape with fabric
  • Add a canopy
  • Add ribbon
  • Hang fairy lights

Try soothing aromatherapy

Not only is aromatherapy extremely relaxing, but it is also thought to dramatically improve mental and physical health, known for helping with relief from depression and anxiety. By combining aromatic essential oils and a calming atmosphere, it is the perfect recipe for a wonderful Valentine’s evening at home. Known as the holistic healing treatment, you will just need to purchase your own essential oils. These are usually available as sprays for the room or rubbing oil for the skin. Just pick whichever suits you more!
